As a huge fan of the animated series Adventure Time, I was thrilled when I heard about the spin-off comic series, Marceline and the Scream Queens. At first, I was a bit hesitant about the idea of a spin-off focused solely on Marceline, as she is just one character in a show filled with many beloved characters. However, after reading the first few issues, I quickly realized why this series is necessary.
First and foremost, Marceline is an incredibly complex and interesting character. Throughout Adventure Time, we have seen glimpses of her past and her relationships with other characters, but we have never had the chance to truly dive deep into her story. With Marceline and the Scream Queens, we finally get to see more of her background and how she interacts with other characters outside of Finn and Jake.
Furthermore, this spin-off also gives us more insight into the world of Ooo and its inhabitants. While Adventure Time does a fantastic job of creating a vast and diverse world, there are still so many unanswered questions about certain characters and their backstories.
